your project because our founder and principal, Mike Shelkin, is a licensed Professional
Engineer as well as an experienced builder. The benefit to you is that you only need to work
with one firm to ensure that your design is guaranteed to be structurally sound and the
construction is completed in compliance with the engineered specs. When working with Shelkin
Homes, LLC, you will have complete confidence that the structural work, the heating and

Shelkin Homes, LLC was founded in October 2004 and is located in the Mount Vernon area of
Alexandria, Virginia. We are fully licensed and insured, and use only licensed and insured
trade subcontractors.
About the owner: Mike Shelkin received his Master of Engineering Administration degree from
The George Washington University in 1988, and his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
Engineering degree from VA Tech in 1984. He has been a licensed Professional Engineer
since 1996.
